Privacy Policy

Short version: we keep your waitlist details to tell you when we open, and we never sell them. Analytics and ad partners see only limited visit information, never what you type into the form.

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. Who we are

This website, coetuapp.com, is run by The Friends Company ("we", "us") for the Coetu App. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the website or join the waitlist, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. The Coetu App will have its own privacy policy, which you will see before you use it.

The website and the waitlist are for people in the United States, and this policy is written for United States law.

2. What we collect

2.1 What you give us

  • Contact details: your first and last name, email address and phone number.
  • Location you choose: your city, and if you choose, your neighborhood and ZIP code.
  • Interests: the activities you tell us interest you, if any.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email.

We do not send text messages from the waitlist. If we add text messages later, we will ask for your permission first and update this policy.

2.2 What is collected automatically

  • Device and browser: IP address, browser and device type, operating system and language.
  • Usage: pages viewed, the page or campaign that brought you, and actions such as opening or sending the waitlist form.
  • Approximate location: city or region worked out from your IP address. We do not collect your precise location.

We do not record your screen or sessions, and we do not use call tracking. The cookies behind this are listed on our Cookies page.

2.3 What we get from others

We do not buy personal information. Our ad partners send us reports on how our ads perform.

3. How we use it

  • Waitlist: to keep your place and email you about our launch in your city.
  • Questions: to reply when you contact us.
  • Website: to understand how the website is used and improve it.
  • Ads: to measure our ads and show them to people who may be interested.
  • Security: to protect the website and the waitlist from spam, bots and abuse.
  • Legal: to meet our legal obligations and to protect our rights.

Analytics and ads use only the automatic information in 2.2, never your waitlist details.

4. Who receives it

4.1 Service providers

  • Hosting, security and infrastructure: companies that host and deliver the website, run our servers and database, and protect them.
  • Email delivery: a company that sends our emails.
  • Tag management: Google Tag Manager, which loads the partners in 4.2.

They handle information only to provide their service to us. Our fonts are stored on our own website, so no font service sees your visit.

4.2 Analytics and ad partners

Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), Meta and TikTok receive the automatic information in 2.2 on our home page, never your name, email, phone number or ZIP code. We also remove anything but campaign details from page addresses before they load. These partners may collect information about your activity over time and across other websites, and use it under their own privacy policies.

4.3 Other disclosures

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect the rights, property or safety of our members, the public or us, as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our business (the new owner would be bound by this policy), or with your consent.

5. What we do not do

We do not sell your waitlist details, and we do not give them to anyone else to use for their own purposes, including any affiliate or partner. Our website never sends your waitlist details to analytics or advertising partners.

Some state laws may treat letting ad partners use cookies and pixels on our website as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or as targeted advertising. You can opt out of this at any time: see section 11 and our Cookies page.

6. Your rights and choices

6.1 Your rights

Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold information about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for targeted advertising, or for any "sale" or "sharing" as defined by your state's law.

6.2 How to make a request

Email us at privacy@coetuapp.com, ideally from the email address you used to join the waitlist. You do not need an account, and requests are free. We may ask you to confirm the request from that email address so we know it is you. We answer within 45 days, and if we need more time we will tell you why.

If we decline your request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer. We will respond within 60 days, and if we still decline we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

6.3 Equal treatment

Using your rights will never affect your place on the waitlist or how we treat you.

6.4 Emails

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops our emails right away.

7. Sensitive information

The website does not ask for sensitive information, such as precise location, health, beliefs, ethnic origin, immigration status or ID documents. We ask for your city and, if you choose, your ZIP code, not your exact location. Please do not send us sensitive information by email.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your waitlist details while the waitlist is open and you stay on it, so we can tell you when we open in your city. If you ask us to delete them, we delete them or remove what identifies you, except anything the law requires us to keep. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a do-not-email list, so we never email you again by mistake. Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months. Our ad partners keep what they collect under their own policies.

9. Security and where we store it

We use encrypted connections, protect the waitlist form against spam and abuse, limit who can access information, and keep it in access-controlled systems. No method of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

We store your waitlist details in the United States. Our analytics and ad partners may process information in other countries under their own safeguards.

10. Children

The website and the waitlist are not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us at privacy@coetuapp.com and we will delete it.

11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, our website turns analytics and advertising off for your visit and treats it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and any "sale" or "sharing". Our website does not respond to Do Not Track signals, because there is no common standard for them; please use Global Privacy Control instead. You can also use the opt-outs on our Cookies page.

12. Cookies

The cookies used on our website, what they do, how long they last and how to control them are on our Cookies page.

13. Other websites

Our website links to our Instagram, X and TikTok pages and to other websites. This policy does not cover them; their own privacy policies apply.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your waitlist details, we will also tell you by email before it takes effect.
